Starting early July, we will be taking up a summer residency at Empty Shop HQ in Durham City. For a limited time only we will be setting up shop behind the bar at HQ to deliver an authentic craft beer experience alongside Empty Shop's usual diverse programme of events. In art terms it’s a residency, in beer terms it’s a tap takeover but all you really need to know is…

This is going to be awesome!

Empty Shop have been good friends of Steam Machine since we first started trading back in 2015, and they have always stocked our products behind their bar.

They are a non profit arts organisation in the North East of England and based in Durham City. Formed in 2008 with the idea to provide a much needed and accessible platform for artists of all levels and backgrounds to produce exhibit and engage with art. As the organisation has grown they have developed into well rounded permanent fixture in the North East art scene.

Empty Shop have previously collaborated with Steam Machine at Bishop Auckland Food Festival 2017, where together they transformed a derelict department store into a two-day retro bierkeller inspired social craft beer hall, complete with excellent live brasstastic street music, which saw thousands of locals and visitors to the festival passing through the doors in search of refreshment and good vibes.
